The Pastor has fourfold ministry of Word, Sacraments, Order, and Service and thus serves the local church in witness and service of Christ’s love and justice. The Pastor is authorized to preach and teach the Word, to provide pastoral care and counsel, and to administer the sacraments. The Pastor is at the center of everything we do at Knotts. If you need anything, he is just a call or visit away.

Administrative Board Chairman
The Administrative Board Chairman brings initiative, coordination and collaboration to the board; in order to plan, set goals, and implement ideas. This position works with the pastor, lay leader and others to fulfill the great commission. This leader prepares and communicates the agenda for meetings, leads the meetings, follows up on decisions made, coordinates the activities of the leadership team, and maintains a healthy and growing spiritual life.
This position is the point person for all business related items.
Pastor/Staff-Parish Relations Chair
The Pastor/staff-Parish Relations Chair works with the pastor and other staff so that they can work effectively in managing the ministry of the congregation for making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. This leader is the primary connection with the district superintendent and bishop related to the appointed leadership of the congregation.
This position is the point person for all pastor related items.
The Financial Chair proposes a budget, then raises, manages and distributes the financial resources of the congregation to support and strengthen the mission and ministry of the congregation. The financial chair will inform the church about the financial situation, and recommend to the church board of any changes that need to be made to the budget after it has been approved. This Chair also leads quarterly audits.
This position is the point person for all budget related items.
The Church Treasurer disburses all funds received into the church treasury in a responsible and organized manner, with funds identified and bills paid when due so that the mission and ministry of the congregation is effective. The treasurer provides the board with monthly expenditure reports. The treasurer works with the Finance Chair and the financial secretary to maintain records and go through audits.
This position is the point person for all expenditures and financial records.
The Education Chair maintains a healthy and growing spiritual life and encourages others to do the same. The Education Chair promotes attendance and participation in Sunday School for nurture and growth. This position builds a team of Sunday School teachers with the gifts and skills to nurture the Sunday School program. This chair remains familiar with the curriculum being taught to make recommendations for classes.
This position is the point person for all Sunday School Related items.
The Lay Leader functions as the primary representative of and role model for Christian discipleship and faith lived out in the church and in daily life for the people of the congregation. The Lay Leader works with the pastor to full-fill the mission and vision of the congregation. This leader represents the lay people in the congregation. They examine ways the congregation can be involved in carrying ministries in the community.
